| Cloisonné decoration has been in practise for hundreds of years and its used on jewellery and other metal decorative items such as bowls and vases. The base metal for cloisonne beads is usually copper. Thin, flat wire is assembled into outlines and soldered to the base shape, then filled in with enamel and fired to create the designs.
